JACOB KARLZON – piano, keyboards & RHANI KRIJA – percussion

The world-famous Moroccan percussionist Rhani Krija and the Swedish pianist Jacob Karlzon may come from different cultural backgrounds, but they are on the same wavelength both personally and musically. Karlzon elicits incredible melodies full of melancholy and tenderness as well as Intricate improvisations from his grand piano, while Krija takes his musical thoughts and spins them out on his diverse percussion instruments.


The result is a lively dialog which they describe in the following way:
„We are Mosaic – a piano and percussion duo that creates music in the here and now. 
Improvisation, spontaneity and the energy of the moment are what drive us. The album „Mosaic“ reflects this philosophy: each song is a fragment, a moment, a puzzle piece of a larger whole. We compose live in real time and are inspired by the connection to the audience. Music that lives, breathes and surprises.“

Karlzon is known for his collaboration with all the world’s jazz greats and is very successful with his trio (Warner Records) and the duo with Victoria Tolstoy (ACT Music). Krija has performed with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, 
Al Di Meola and Sting.

In spring 2025, the duo releases its first, long awaited album.

Unter der musikalischen Leitung von Magnus Lindgren hat die mehrfach Grammy nominierte SWR Big Band zum Heimspiel eingeladen – gemeinsam mit den „Nordic Voices“ Silje Nergaard, Sinne Eeg und Isabella Lundgren. Hier ist der Konzert-Livemitschnitt aus der Stuttgarter Liederhalle vom 12. Mai in voller Länge zu sehen.

Die beliebten Heimspiel-Konzerte der SWR Big Band bekommen in der Stuttgarter Liederhalle eine neue Variante: Klanglich auf Hollywood-Breitwandformat angelegt mit zusätzlichen Streichern, Perkussionisten und Harfe. Den satten Sound veredeln Silje Nergaard, Sinne Eeg und Isabella Lundgren mit eigens neu arrangierten Stücken von Jazz und Swing bis hin zu Singer-Songwriter Songs.

Silje Nergaard (Norwegen) ist wohl die bekannteste Sängerin in Deutschland, hat 16 vielfach ausgezeichnete Alben veröffentlicht und stand mit Al Jarreau, Pat Metheny und Vince Mendoza auf der Bühne. Sie wird auch gerne als Joni Mitchell des Nordens bezeichnet.
